Susan Hardy, of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America’s Rhode Island chapter, opens shutters in Providence’s Stephen Hopkins House. The historic Benefit Street house has been undergoing renovations that include a new roof and exterior painting. Hopkins was governor of Colonial Rhode Island and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
