FM Global: Expect more hires this year

JOHNSTON – Insurance giant FM Global says that it hired dozens of employees for new full-time positions in 2009, and is prepared to do the same this year.
One of the world’s largest commercial-property insurers, Johnston-based FM Global said last week that it seeks to fill nearly two dozen full-time positions in information technology, finance, engineering, marketing, training and human resources at its offices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
“Higher-level and specialized positions continue to drive most of FM Global’s job growth,” said Enzo Rebula, senior vice president of human resources. “These jobs are integral to the company’s ability to understand our clients’ business and to develop robust property insurance and engineering solutions.”
FM Global employs 5,100 people in 62 offices worldwide, about 1,600 of which work at the insurer’s Johnston headquarters, at a research campus in Glocester and at offices in Waltham and Norwood, Mass. The $4.6 billion company said it created 53 jobs in Rhode Island and 10 in Massachusetts last year.
FM Global – a commercial and industrial property insurer with clients in more than 130 nations – is a $4.5 billion policyholder-owned mutual insurance company. &#8226
