Swansea developer works to woo Target

A developer in Swansea is working to attract a Target store to a property along Route 6 where Building 19 once sat, The Herald News reported.
The newspaper said RK Associates, which owns the property, wants to demolish the existing structure and construct a new 134,000-square-foot store. But an executive with the company told the paper the project still needs to clear many regulatory steps before Target would commit to the site.
RK Associates said if it receives all its approvals, it could complete the project in late 2011.
If so, the new Target would sit across from the Swansea Commons. The Herald News said Target had considered the commons as a location for a new store before dropping the idea in April.
