NARRAGANSETT – Surfside Narragansett, a 99-unit residential development that sits across from the town’s public beach, this month was named a finalist for The National Association of Home Builders’ 2009 National Green Building Awards.
Surfside, in the Narragansett Pier Village (READ MORE), has been nominated in the “Project of the Year – Remodel” category. It’s the renovation of 1970s-era apartments.
“With Surfside Narragansett, we believe we have delivered the highest-quality, environmentally responsible luxury condominium renovation to be found anywhere in the state,” Gilbane Development President Robert Gilbane said in a statement. “From windows and doors, which have been Energy Star qualified for green building, to highly efficient HVAC systems and appliances that also carry the Energy Star label, Surfside is a testament to Gilbane’s longstanding culture of green building practices.”
The award winners will be announced during the 11th annual NAHB Green Building Conference, to be held May 8 to 10 in Dallas.
