Picerne announces contest for rent-free housing

WARWICK – A real estate company that owns and manages 4,400 apartments in seven Rhode Island communities has started a promotion in which it will offer one renter a rent-free year.
Picerne Real Estate Group announced recently that any new renter who signs a one-year lease for a one- or two-bedroom apartment by June 30 will be eligible to win the cost-free year.
“We understand that many Rhode Islanders are concerned about financial stability and job security and this promotion is designed to have a positive and direct impact on the quality of life for one local family,” Picerne Vice President Cheryl Martin said in a statement. “This promotion will give one family the opportunity to live where they want, to build up a savings account and to gain some piece of mind.”
The company pegged the value of a free year at between $11,000 and $15,000.
Based in Warwick, Picerne owns 23 market-rate apartment complexes in Coventry, Cranston, East Providence, Middletown, Providence, Warwick and West Warwick.
