FALL RIVER – The Center for Sight, a specialized medical, surgical and laser eye care provider, is celebrating its 35th anniversary.
The practice, started in a small house by Dr. Kevin D. O’Brien in 1974, soon added another physician, Dr. Robert J. Vergnani, and has grown to include two additional physicians, Dr. Robert Kelly, who completed a fellowship in diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, and Dr. Gregory Hofeldt, who completed a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery.
The practice also employs optometrists, licensed opticians and other formally trained staff. It now occupies a 16,000-square-foot space in the Narragansett Mill on North Main Street.
The center treats patients from the South Coast of Massachusetts as well as the Providence area. It offers eye examinations for eyeglasses and contact lenses, examinations for cataracts and cataract surgery with no injection, no-stitch multifocal lens implants, diagnosis and treatment of diabetic eye disease, surgical treatment of eye lid problems including skin cancers, treatment of glaucoma and macular degeneration.
Hofeldt also performs cosmetic eyelid surgery as well as non-surgical treatments such as BOTOX and JUVEDERM.
