Citizens opens new flagship Rhode Island branch in Warwick

WARWICK – Citizens Bank opened its new Rhode Island flagship branch at Centerville Place, a 3,278-square-foot location that represents a new investment by the bank in the city’s Centerville Road commercial corridor.

The Citizens Centerville Place branch, at 989 Centerville Road, Unit C, held its grand opening Sept. 18 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks from local officials and Citizens executives, and a $2,500 donation to the Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council. The grand opening was followed by a community block party featuring local entrepreneurs, food and giveaways.

The branch is a ground-up new construction with an advice-led design that includes three teller stations, five private meeting rooms, an ATM in the vestibule and a drive-up interactive teller machine, according to Citizens.

“We’re excited to open our doors at Centerville Place and create a space where families, business owners and other customers can get the financial guidance they need, all in one convenient location,” said Roshan Patel, retail market executive for New England South at Citizens. “Just as important, we wanted this opening to reflect our commitment to Warwick by partnering with local businesses and supporting organizations like the Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council.”

The branch is part of a larger commercial property at 989 Centerville Road that sits on 2.35 acres, according to the Warwick property assessor’s database. The property contains two commercial building sections totaling 9,184 square feet. One section contains 4,100 square feet and is classified by the assessor as a restaurant, while the second contains 5,084 square feet and is classified as a veterinary clinic.

According to the assessor’s database, the property was constructed in 1983 and has brick-veneer exterior walls, a flat roof, gas-fired forced-air heat and central air conditioning. The property also has approximately 100,000 square feet of asphalt paving listed in the assessor’s records.

The property had a 2026 total assessment of $2.55 million, consisting of $1.31 million for the improvements and $1.25 million for the land, according to the assessor’s database.

According to a warranty deed, a public record of the sale, CL Bald Hill Corner RI LLC, based in Beechwood, Ohio, purchased the property for $5.2 million on March 27 from 10 and 6 LLC and JC333 LLC.
