Psychologist offers services to veterans

A psychologist at Gershon Psychological Associates LLC, in Warwick, has begun offering specialized services to veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.
Jodi Orcutt is trained in cognitive processing therapy and prolonged exposure therapy for combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder, the two treatments that the U.S. Veterans Administration is offering to returning veterans.
Orcutt also delivers nationwide trainings on the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale (CAPS), and uses this measure frequently in clinical work to identify levels of PTSD for appropriate treatment planning.
Orcutt completed her postdoctoral training at the VA Hospital in San Diego and specializes in clinical work and testing with both active-duty and veteran military populations and their families. She is offering individual, couples and family therapy with returning veterans and/or their families, as well as psychological and neuropsychological testing.
Orcutt has a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and a master’s degree from Springfield College in marriage and family therapy. She is a provider for Tricare/MHN and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island’s insurance panels.
