NK builder certified ‘green verifier’

NORTH KINGSTOWN – David Caldwell Jr., vice president of Caldwell & Johnson Inc., has become one of the National Association of Home Builders’ “green verifiers,” about 300 professional builders allowed to verify whether a project is “green,” according to the Rhode Island Builders Association.
The Green Verifier Designation is part of the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines, which provide standards for energy efficient and sustainable home building.
“This is a national program, so I’m technically allowed to inspect and verify a project anywhere,” Caldwell said in the January issue of The Rhode Island Builder Report, the RIBA monthly newsletter.
Under the NAHB program, a builder has to have two successful inspections by third-party green verifiers for certification.
