Fantastic Sams to double R.I. locations

BEVERLY, MASS. – Fantastic Sams, a national hair-salon chain based in Beverly, Mass., has announced plans to more than double its retail locations in Rhode Island over the course of the next five years.
Rhode Island presently has 13 Fantastic Sams salons. The company said it plans to take out space for 15 more.
The Providence expansion is “part of an aggressive national growth strategy” that seeks to grow the company by 5 percent annually.
“Providence is a strategic market for us as we continue to grow our brand and meet our national development goals,” Vice President of Franchise Sales and Development Jeff Sturgis said in a statement last week. “The demographics, consumer lifestyle and strong business climate in Providence meet the Fantastic Sams expansion model criteria and position the area for tremendous growth and success.”
The company said that the expansion will create more than 180 jobs.
