Outgoing Hasbro CEO made $16.5M last year

PAWTUCKET – Hasbro Inc., the world’s second-largest toymaker, said CEO Alfred Verrecchia’s total compensation almost doubled to $16.5 million in 2007, Bloomberg News reported.
That amount included a $1.2 million salary, $3.6 million as a non-stock bonus and a $5.31 million increase in the value of the CEO’s pension plan, the Pawtucket -based company said in a regulatory filing last week. Verrecchia’s total compensation was $8.4 million in 2006, Hasbro said.
In 2007, Hasbro took on several high-profile projects, including producing toys to coincide with the release of the “Transformers” movie last July.
Verrecchia, a 43-year Hasbro veteran, is slated to be replaced by operating chief Brian Goldner in May, the company said earlier this year. &#8226
