Ting Wang
Ting Wang, a senior tax accountant with Kahn, Litwin & Renza, has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the CFP certification mark in accordance with the Board certification and license renewal requirements. With KLR since 1997, his work focuses on providing tax planning and preparing tax returns for businesses, individuals, not-for-profit organizations, pension plans and estates. Wang received his bachelor’s degree in accounting in Shanghai, China. He then graduated from Johnson & Wales with a master’s of science degree in accounting. Wang is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Grafton H. Willey, IV
Grafton H. “Cap” Willey, IV was a delegate to the National Small Business Congress held in Arizona last month. Willey, a partner in the firm of Rooney, Plotkin & Willey, LLP, served as moderator for the economic development issue area. The congress, sponsored by the National Small Business United, brought together delegates from across the country to develop a legislative agenda for the small business constituency.

Jay Sweeney has been promoted from district manager to regional sales manager at the East Providence office of General Electric Capital Assurance Company, the long-term care division of GE Financial Assurance. He now will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts regional sales force.

Michael E. Paiva
Michael E. Paiva has been appointed Rhode Island team leader in business banking for First Federal Savings Bank of America. He will service existing business loan relationships, develop new business loan relationships and manage a team of commercial lenders. He is currently located in FIRSTFED’s Warwick banking office and will soon relocate to the Bank’s Providence office. Paiva joined the bank in 1996 as senior business development officer and was promoted to vice president in 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his master’s in business administration at Bryant College. He is a mentor in the Warwick public school system and is involved with the Central Rhode Island and Providence Chambers of Commerce.

Vance Freymann
Providence resident Vance Freymann has joined Peabody Construction in Braintree, Mass., as vice president of business development. In this role he will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation of the company’s client development program. Previously heading business development at Westcott Construction and Cutler Associates, Freymann received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. He also received a master of urban affairs degree from Boston University.

Elizabeth Ann Kearney
Elizabeth Ann Kearney has been selected as president of the Bradley Hospital Foundation, the hospital’s philanthropic organization. Kearney, a Cranston resident, has a long-term relationship with Bradley: During the Blizzard of ’78, she slept on the floor for several days when she was a clinical child care worker at the hospital. Her new responsibilities include fundraising, fostering major gifts and working to identify people in the community who could help support the hospital’s programs. Kearney has both an undergraduate and a master’s degree in business administration from Providence College.
Mary MacIntosh
Mary MacIntosh has joined Landmark Medical Center as vice president and chief financial officer. MacIntosh, a certified management accountant, who holds a master’s in business administration, will oversee all financial and information system functions of the hospital, as well as other administrative services.

Sara L. Carcieri has been promoted to vice president of product development at Reed & Barton. She joined the company in 1994 as director of product development and design. Prior to this job she was vice president of product management for Gorham and Kirk-Sieff. A graduate of Purdue University, with her bachelor’s degree in business and retailing, Carcieri lives in Rumford.

Holly Martindell
Holly Martindell has been named regional sales manager of Holson Albums, a North Smithfield-based manufacturer of mass-market photo albums. Most recently, Martindell served as national sales manager for Annin & Company, a maker of flags and banners in New Jersey. She is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and fashion merchandising.

Sharon Baris
Sharon Baris of West Warwick has been promoted to director of business services for Cox Communications’ New England region. Prior to her promotion, she was commercial sales manager in charge of both the Rhode Island and Connecticut markets. She will oversee aspects of providing voice, video and data services to businesses.
