PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island gasoline prices fell over the past week, after rising for the previous two weeks, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 23 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve unleaded regular gasoline averaging $2.959 per gallon, 2 cents lower than in last week’s survey and 13 cents lower than the year-ago average of $3.089 per gallon. This week’s local price was 5 cents below the national average of $3.009, the nonprofit auto club said.

Average self-serve prices for other grades of fuel this week were $3.099 per gallon for midgrade unleaded, $3.219 for premium unleaded and $2.979 for diesel.
