AAA: R.I. gas prices fall 4¢ to $2.969

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island gasoline prices are back below $3 per gallon, after falling for their third consecutive week, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s June 18 survey of gas prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.969 per gallon, 4 cents less than last week and 12 cents less than at the survey’s peak on May 29.

One year ago, the average price was $2.979.

The range in prices for self-serve regular in the latest survey was 28 cents – the same as last week – from a low of $2.849 to a high of $3.129. Similar ranges were seen for other grades of fuel.

Average self-serve prices this week were $3.109 for midgrade unleaded, $3.229 for premium unleaded and $2.939 for diesel.
