PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have risen for the 15th consecutive week, to 91 cents above the mid-February price of $2.179 per gallon, according to a report today from AAA Southern New England.
The auto club’s May 29 survey found self-serve regular unleaded averaging $3.089 per gallon in Rhode Island, 3 cents more than in last week’s survey. A year ago, the average price was $2.939.

Nationwide, AAA found, self-serve prices for unleaded regular averaged $3.209, or 12 cents per gallon more than in the Ocean State.
Locally, the range in prices for self-serve, unleaded regular was 26 cents, from $2.595 to $3.219. Similar ranges were seen for other grades.
Average self-serve prices this week for other grades of fuel were $3.099 for midgrade unleaded, $3.319 for premium unleaded and $2.939 for diesel.
