The investment paid off. Allegra’s revenue increased by 181% in 2022 compared with 2020. Last year, Allegra reported $1.8 million in revenue.

Bud McCann, who owns the seven-employee shop with his wife, Karen, credits the increase to pent-up demand since the pandemic.

“If you were one of the companies that was able to make it through, you were the recipient of that demand,” said McCann, who noted the shop’s revenue is up 11% compared with this time last year because Brown University chose Allegra to be one of the Ivy league’s local print facilities.

Allegra is also situating itself as the go-to expert for helping nonprofits raise money by hosting seminars and awarding printing grants.

McCann said Allegra might be looking to start services for promotional products, commercial print and signage soon.
