WARREN – Room Alert, a device made by AVTECH Software Inc. that monitors conditions such as temperature, power and humidity for business environments, won Innovation Product of the Year at the International Go Global Awards held in Chicago and hosted by the International Trade Council.
According to AVTECH, Room Alert is used in 186 countries with clients such as Sprint Corp., The Boeing Co. and Microsoft Corp., as well as government entities such as the United Nations.
AVTECH CEO Michael Sigourney said the 31-year-old company has been working to broaden its global presence, with environmental factors known to be responsible for 30% of power outages experienced by businesses, causing data loss, downtime and revenue loss.
“We’ve focused on the growing international market for the past decade by participating in multiple trade missions, while also exhibiting at a number of regional shows to help expand our presence,” Sigourney said in a statement.
Sigourney accepted the award at the Think Global Conference, along with Anne Sigourney, AVTECH chief financial officer.
Room Alert and its software and hardware products are made at AVTECH, in Warren’s Cutler Mill.
No others companies from Rhode Island or Bristol County, Mass., received awards.
