The additional apprenticeships will expand programs in areas, including consumer banking, technology and operations. Bank of America currently hires more than 800 apprentices annually through paid, work-based learning programs.

The bank said about 40% of its hires do not have a bachelor’s degree, as it expands skills-based hiring and career pathways that do not require a four-year degree.

The $150 million workforce development commitment builds on nearly $40 million Bank of America invested in 2025 through partnerships with more than 100 universities and community colleges and more than 600 nonprofit organizations across its U.S. markets.

The funding will support organizations that provide training, coaching and connections to career opportunities, with specific investments to be determined based on local workforce needs.

“Apprenticeship and workforce development programs underscore our continued commitment to expanding opportunity and helping talented individuals develop the skills to succeed,” said Brian Moynihan, chairman and CEO of Bank of America.
