PROVIDENCE – BankNewport is expanding into Providence, WPRI-TV CBS 12 reported Nov. 20. The mutual savings bank has requested approval from the R.I. Department of Business Regulation to open a branch at the former AAA Northeast office at the corner of Dorrance and Westminster streets, and a Wayland Square branch at 5 S. Angell St.
