BankRI kicks off Holiday Giving Tree program

PROVIDENCE – Bank Rhode Island has kicked off its Holiday Giving Tree program ahead of schedule, according to a news release.

The annual gift collection program began Nov. 2, with the intent to give holiday gifts to as many children as possible amid the increased financial struggles brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank stated.

Sixteen nonprofit partners will distribute gifts to children ahead of the December holiday.

The holiday trees set out in each of the bank’s 20 branch locations feature ornaments with specific children and their holiday gift requests. Those interested in donating can visit a branch to pick an ornament or call to request ornament information by phone.
