BARRINGTON – A waterfront-area home in the Alfred Drowne neighborhood recently sold for $2.3 million, setting a record as the highest-priced residential sale in the neighborhood’s history, according to Compass Inc., citing records kept by the Rhode Island Statewide Multiple Listing Service.
The Colonial-style residence at 63 Alfred Drowne Road, built in 1942, contains approximately 3,361 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Situated on a 0.48-acre lot, the home also includes an attached garage and a partially finished basement.

According to Compass, the home offers west-facing water views and features living and formal dining rooms, two fireplaces, a sunroom, a den, a home office and an updated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
The second floor includes a primary suite with an en suite bathroom, along with additional bedrooms, while the property also features a private patio and landscaped gardens.
The Alfred Drowne neighborhood occupies a peninsula in the western portion of Barrington and is known for its proximity to Narragansett Bay, the Barrington Yacht Club and Barrington Harbor. The property is also located near the town center and Barrington’s public schools.
According to the Barrington property assessor’s database, the home was most recently assessed at approximately $1.42 million.

According to the warranty deed, a public record of the sale, the property was sold by Alison Townsend and it was purchased by Tucker Family Trust LLC, a Delaware limited liability company based in Barrington.
