LONDON – Buyout shop BC Partners has agreed to pay $2.6 billion to buy Swedish cable company Com Hem, which is partially owned by Providence-based equity firm Providence Equity Partners.
Providence Equity and another equity firm, Carlyle Group, purchased the Stockholm-based cable operator in 2006 for about $1.2 billion.
Since then, Com Hem has spent about $617 million on upgrading the company’s services and developing new ones, such as TV on-demand and broadband, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
Meanwhile, Providence Equity Partners has completed its $1.88 billion acquisition of SRA International, a provider of technology and strategic consulting services to governments. The deal had been announced in April.
