Bergmann appointed new VP and chief people officer at Blue Cross

PROVIDENCE – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island has appointed Anastasia Bergmann as vice president and chief people officer.

A Massachusetts resident, Bergmann has years of experience as a leader in health care human resources. Before joining Blue Cross, she worked as vice president of people and culture at Point32Health, a role that included leading recruitment, retention and employee experiences, and overseeing human resources business partnerships and talent acquisitions.

“We’re delighted that Anastasia has joined our leadership team,” Michele B. Lederberg, executive vice president, chief legal officer and chief administrative officer at Blue Cross, said in a statement. “Her expertise in fostering inclusion and belonging, and her deep understanding of complex health care organizations make Anastasia a great fit with BCBSRI’s culture.”

Bergmann, who has a bachelor’s degree in financial management from Technical State University in Ulyanovsk, Russia, and a master’s degree in human resource management from Emmanuel College in Boston, also worked at the University of Massachusetts Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital and at Children’s Hospital Boston. She is also a board member at the Kennedy Donovan Center, a human services provider for adults and children with developmental disabilities.
