Blackstone Valley gets national designation

PAWTUCKET – Blackstone Valley Community Health Care has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Level 3 patient-centered medical home, one of the few medical organizations in the region to achieve this designation.
“This designation signifies the efficacy of our comprehensive and inter-disciplinary care model, in addition to the considerable investment we’ve made in the technology needed to support exceptional patient care,” said Blackstone Valley’s Medical Director Jerry Fingerut.
The value of this patient-focused model is that it provides the ability to consolidate disparate health data from various providers such as primary care, behavioral health, dental, in-patient and specialty care, explained Blackstone Valley Executive Director Ray Lavoie. “Providers and staff then utilize the electronic tools to improve quality, efficiency and comfort for our patients while lowering costs to the overall system,” he said.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Its Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care.
