PROVIDENCE – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island held a ribbon-cutting on May 24 to celebrate its new Your Blue Store in East Providence. The 4,300-square-foot venue offers a variety of programs and classes, as well as expanded hours, to provide an enhanced level of service to members. Located at 71 Highland Ave. in East Providence, this Your Blue Store joins two others in Warwick and Lincoln.
The East Providence Your Blue Store provides a hands-on service experience for all BCBSRI members, including a large community room to accommodate free exercise classes and community events. It offers onsite nurse care coordination and several interactive tools, including a biometrics measurement device and educational activities. This location also features private consultation space for customers exploring medical and dental coverage options and for current members working with BCBSRI nursing care coordination staff.

“At Blue Cross, we are focused on connecting with the community we serve in simple and effective ways. Our new store builds on the success we have had with retail stores across the state and helps our customers improve their health and more easily understand health care,” Melissa Cummings, BCBSRI senior vice president and chief customer officer, said in the company statement. “We want Rhode Islanders to know they have a new option offering greater choice and convenience to help plan and manage their health coverage.”
The new Your Blue Store in East Providence is open Mondays and Thursdays until 7 p.m., and its staff includes individuals fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
