TAUNTON – Jeffrey Kolarik and John Silva have been promoted to executive vice president positions at Bristol County Savings Bank, the bank announced.

Kolarik was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer, a newly created position. He is responsible for retail banking, deposit and loan operations, electronic banking, the bank’s call center, Bank Secrecy Act security and fraud prevention, and facilities management.

Kolarik, a Warwick resident, joined the bank in 2017 as senior vice president, then was promoted last year to executive vice president and senior operations officer.

“Over the past year, Jeff played a lead role in the upgrade of our core processing platform, which enhanced our commercial and municipal service capabilities; the expansion of our branch network in downtown New Bedford … and the addition of a loan processing office in Warwick,” Bristol County Savings Bank President and CEO Patrick Murray said. “Jeff also was instrumental in the successful migration of our investment customers to the newly formed Bristol Wealth Group, in which the bank has a 50% ownership stake.”

Silva, another Rhode Island resident, was promoted to executive vice president and chief lending officer. He is responsible for managing the bank’s commercial lending, residential lending, consumer lending, and indirect lending departments.

Silva assumes the responsibilities of Len Sullivan, the bank’s first executive vice president and senior loan officer, who recently retired.

Prior to his recent promotion, Silva was the bank’s executive vice president of commercial lending and also the senior vice president of commercial lending. He previously worked for Santander and its predecessor banks in the region for more than 25 years.

“John has helped manage the bank’s commercial lending department during a sustained period of growth and I’m confident that his leadership abilities and expertise will translate well in his expanded role as chief lending officer,” Murray said.
