The building dates to the early 1900s. The property includes 271 Tockwotten St. and 230 India St. A Brown University website indicates the building is used as storage and for other purposes by several departments.
According to the listing by CB Richard Ellis New England, Brown is seeking to maintain a lease through August 2019 to allow a developer to gain necessary approvals for redevelopment.
The list price is not disclosed. The property covers two lots that total about nine-tenths of an acre of land.
