BSC Industries marks 100th year

PROVIDENCE – Known as Bearings Specialty Co. at its founding in 1919 and up until a few years ago, BSC Industries Inc. is marking its 100th anniversary.

The company – headquartered in Canton, Mass. – has seven New England locations, including Providence.

It serves customers in the original equipment manufacturing and maintenance, repair and operations sectors, and is an authorized distributor to more than 200 manufacturers. Products include belts and pulleys, chains and sprockets, gear motors and gear reducers, and seals and clutches, according to BSC.

“While it’s exciting to celebrate this milestone, we are more excited about achieving our next level of growth,” said Peter Fitzpatrick, co-owner and treasurer. “We look forward to the challenges of implementing new technologies and growing our digital presence, as well as creating a name for ourselves in emerging markets.”
