Denise Chakoian | CORE Center of Real Energy LLC owner and president
When I began 14 years ago, I focused on building a business, thinking that was the way to make a living. What I soon realized after working with many of my first clients is that I should focus on building a community instead, and from that my business would thrive organically.
Community requires in-person contact and engagement, something the online/in-home world of today struggles to deliver. I find that my clients enjoy the group environment and/or the personalized experience that my team strives to deliver. The lesson I’ve learned is a local business must promote the community it serves and support the needs of its clients.
The second lesson has been incorporating the principles of charitable giving into the business. Since the beginning of CORE, we’ve incorporated the principles of giving for the benefit of local charities or nonprofit community organizations through the use of dedicated workouts earmarked for a charity.
With the opening of our new state-of-the-art studio, we have stepped up our charitable programs significantly. The result has been not only enjoying greater personal satisfaction but also increasing the impact we can have for the benefit of a charitable initiative and building a better business brand at the same time.
