Button Hole charity golf tournament to benefit American Cancer Society

PROVIDENCE – Button Hole Golf Course will hold a charity golf tournament on Aug. 5 to benefit the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.

The nonprofit group strives to secure cancer-friendly legislation and encourage elected officials – from state legislatures to Congress and the White House – to prioritize cancer research, investments and improve access to prevention and early detection measures.

Held on Sunday, Aug. 5, the tournament’s check-in will begin at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment will include a raffle, closest-to-the-pin contest and a putting competition. Tickets cost $35 each for the golf and lunch.

This year, suggested donations of $15 will also be accepted from individuals who are not interested in playing golf but would like to attend the afternoon lunch.
