
NEWPORT – The Carnegie Abbey Club has sold for $8.8 million, the club confirmed Thursday.
The club was purchased by a group of members, the club said at the time of the auction earlier in 2018. The club said that sale has not yet closed, but is scheduled to close Friday.

The land itself is owned by the Order of St. Benedict and the Portsmouth Abbey, with the club and its improvements being sold as leasehold and fee interests.
The club consists of an 18-hole golf course, equestrian center, marina and clubhouse.
The club said that more details would be released tomorrow, when it said the sale is scheduled to close.
