PROVIDENCE – Dr. Sree Chaguturu has been named chief medical officer for CVS Caremark, CVS Health Corp.’s pharmacy benefits management business, the company announced Thursday.
The position was recently created, according to the company. The position will see Chaguturu supporting the PBM and specialty pharmacy areas of the company, with a focus on enhancing the quality of services by CVS Caremark and “contributing to the overall mission of CVS Health,” the company said.

The appointment is effective in September. Chaguturu joins from Partners Healthcare, where he served as chief population health officer.
Chaguturu is also a practicing internal medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.
