The Attleboro Area Chamber of Commerce’s 10th-annual Charity Open Golf Tournament recently raised $15,000 for local charities, including Community VNA Hospice Care and The Arc of Northern Bristol County. The charities split the proceeds with the Chamber.
The event, which generated the highest donations total and number of golfers participating in the event’s history, was held at Wentworth Hills Golf Club in Plainville. It attracted more than 100 golfers to the lunch, dinner and auction. Title sponsors included Sovereign Bank, National Grid, CruiseOne and Norwegian Cruise Lines.
The Bridgewater State College team captured first place in the tournament while the National Grid team took second place. Other winners included: John Lambert, of the Sovereign Bank team, who won the 50/50 Betting Hole; Bill Manchester, of the Willow Tree Poultry team, who won closest to the pin; Andy Wilder, of the Baystate Financial Services team, and Lydia Reeves, of Reeves Company teams, who won for longest drives. Paul Cadieux, of the Benemax team, won the putting contest and donated his prize money back to the tournament. •
