CharterCARE Provider Group given ‘Elite’ status by APG for third straight year

PROVIDENCE – CharterCARE Provider Group of Rhode Island LLC has been awarded “Elite” recognition on the America’s Physician Group’s 2018 Standards of Excellence survey for the third consecutive year, the health group announced Friday.

CharterCARE Provider Group was among 88 medical groups to receive Elite status, the highest ranking awarded by America’s Physician Group, out of 122 such groups from across the country that participated in the survey. The Providence-based provider group was the only health care organization from Providence and Bristol County, Mass., to take part in this survey, in which participants earned rankings based on how they perform in delivering care.

Participants’ responses were judged on five categories: Accountability and transparency, care management process, health information technology, patient-centered care and physician organization support for advanced primary care. CharterCARE Provider Group, an affiliate of CharterCARE Health Partners led by CEO John J. Holiver, received stars in all five categories.

“The medical groups that participate in America’s Physician Group are some of the finest in the nation, so this recognition is a tremendous honor,” said Dr. Martin Serota, chief medical officer for CharterCARE Provider Group of Rhode Island, in an email Friday.
