Citizens Bank, WJAR-TV NBC 10 accepting Champions in Action applications

PROVIDENCE – Friday marks the final day to apply for Citizens Bank and WJAR-TV NBC 10’s Champions in Action 2019 program in the youth leadership category.

Nonprofit organizations that offer programming beneficial to local youth and promote the preparation of successful youth for engagement in the community are encouraged to apply. Per Citizens’ guidelines, eligible nonprofits must be based in Rhode Island, be able to provide verifiable 501(c)(3) status and have a total operating budget of $5 million or less.

The successful nonprofit applicant will be announced in January and receive a $35,000 contribution in unrestricted funds from Citizens Bank, media coverage from WJAR-TV NBC 10, volunteer support from Citizens’ employees and promotional support at Citizens Bank branches.

Applications can be completed online and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Aug. 17.

Champions in Action is part of Citizens Helping Citizens Strengthen Communities, the bank’s program designed to enhance quality of life and economic vitality in local communities. It provides support for small nonprofit organizations to recognize their contributions to communities throughout Rhode Island.
