CNE launches video series featuring employees’ accomplishments outside of work

A NEW VIDEO series created by Care New England Health System features its employees engaged in personally fulfilling hobbies that enhance their professional lives as well.

PROVIDENCE – A new series of videos created by Care New England Health System features a water skier, a painter, a ceramics artist, a woodworker and a boxer. All five people explain the importance of their hobbies, and share how accomplishments in their personal lives enhance their professional careers.

Each subject is also among the first CNE employees to take part in a new effort that will eventually be launched as an “employer branding campaign,” according to CNE.

“Care New England is an employer of choice, and these videos showcase the amazing skills and talents of our workforce, both professionally and personally,” said Raina Smith, CNE’s director of public and media relations and communications and government affairs. “They also remind people that a healthy work/life balance is important to overall health and wellness.”

So far, the videos have appeared on Youtube and social media, and more will soon be created, Smith added.

Videos out now feature waterskier Chris Bernardo, a registered nurse at Butler Hospital, painter Franco Rodriguez, an occupational therapy assistant at Kent Hospital, boxer Kayla Cross, a nurse practitioner at Women & Infants Hospital, ceramics artist Laura White Carpenter, a occupational therapist at Butler Hospital and woodworker Nat Royer, a physical therapist at Kent.

“I use the example of my own stress release to try to give a real life example to my patients and how they can have more than one benefit from moving their body, not just the physical improvements that you can see with strength and endurance but also with the mental health aspect,” Cross said in her video.
