LINCOLN – In its fourth year, the annual Dancing with the Doctors competition has partnered with Studio One R.I. Dance Complex to raise money for The Izzy Foundation, which provides services and support to families whose children suffer from debilitating diseases.
“This year is going to be our biggest yet, with show-stopping performances and an amazing group of doctors,” said Dee Soares, director and founder of Dancing with the Doctors, in a statement.

More than 800 guests have signed up for the April 22 event, which sees local doctors paired with professional dancers who perform choreographed dance routines for a panel of judges. Scores from the audience and judges will determine which pair takes home the mirror ball trophy.
The 2017 event will take place on April 22 at the Twin River Event Center and feature local doctors, including Emily Ackerman, Ruben Alvero, Angela Anderson, Allison Brindle, Stephanie Catanese, Jeannine Connolly, Phyllis Dennery, Sam Dudley, Okosun Edoro, Tina Ellis, Sarah Gaines, Star Hampton, Guillaume Lepine, Jessica McIntyre, Christopher Muratore, Melissa Murphy, Charles Rardin, Thomas Sepe, Jane Sharp, Vivian Sung, Michael Wolfe and Tony Wu.
Over the past three years, Dancing with the Doctors has helped raise more than $172,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma R.I. Man/Woman of the Year as well as Hope Hospice and Palliative Care R.I.
