Business plans will be judged on originality, feasibility and applicability for small businesses. Applications must relate to food businesses, products, services solutions, productions or other related topics.
Plans will be judged in two groups, youth and adult categories. Each group will yield three finalists participants or participating groups, who will present at the Millrace Kitchen to a group of judges.
Submissions are due May 21, and awards will be given on May 29 at the Millrace Kitchen space.
According to competition rules, entrants must own the original content/idea or be the owner of the existing business or get written permission from the owner of business to submit on behalf of the business.
The Millrace Kitchen & Event Center is an initiative of the nonprofit NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley. The kitchen operates as a food incubator but also includes rentable event space and a rotating art gallery. It is located at 40 South Main St., Woonsocket.
