PROVIDENCE – The deadline to apply for the 2021 Rhode Island Business Competition is March 29 at 5 p.m., the organization reminded on Wednesday.
Applicants for the competition must submit an idea for an early-stage or seed-stage company. Rhode Island Business Competition said that no industry is favored above any other.
Contestants will be competing for cash and prizes worth at least $150,000, which will be awarded to a winner and three finalists.
The organization said that everyone who submits a completed application to the 2021 competition will receive two consecutive months of free co-working space for their team at Sprout Coworking LLC in the Rising Sun Mills campus in Providence. In addition, all semifinalists in the competition will receive free mentoring services from RIHub.
Last year, the competition awarded more than $180,000 in cash and prizes.
Judges for the competition will consider the commercial potential of a business, the innovative nature and technical feasibility of the idea, the likelihood that the business described can achieve a sustainable, competitive advantage, and the credibility of the individuals behind the proposal.
