Meeting new professionals Providence Networking is hosting a speed networking event for business professionals who are interested in meeting other professionals in various fields, such as entrepreneurs and small-business owners. Labor law conference The University of Rhode Island Schmidt Labor Research Center is hosting its 33rd annual Labor and Employment Law Conference, which is open to the public and will benefit anyone working in the labor and employment fields. Students vie for scholarships Lt. Gov. DanIEL J. McKee is hosting a business pitch event for high school students in the Ocean State. The event features the top five teams of student entrepreneurs from across the state as they face off in a Shark Tank-style competition for a chance to win a share of $14,000 in scholarships. The competition is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship and promoting business ownership in Rhode Island.
