PROVIDENCE – Elmhurst Extended Care, the nursing home affiliated with Roger Williams Medical Center, got a double dose of praise in recent days, with an across-the-board “three diamonds” rating in the R.I. Department of Health’s most recent resident satisfaction surveys and an “Excellence in Action” award from My InnerView, a national company that allows health care providers to benchmark their quality against others’.
Elmhurst was one of only five nursing homes, out of a total of 92, to get three diamonds, the highest possible grade, in every category on the state survey.
“These results are truly a testament to our staff’s hard work and willingness to go the extra mile and the extra smile for our elders,” said Richard Gamache, vice president/administrator of the nursing home, in a news release.
The My InnerView award, which is presented annually, recognizes exemplary nursing home quality care and service. The award is given to homes that have made a commitment to continuous quality improvement and have successfully made quality a priority to better serve their customers’ needs.
“Elmhurst again has proven itself to be a national leader in the delivery of quality elder care,” said Kenneth H. Belcher, president and CEO of Roger Williams Medical Center, in a news release. “Congratulations to Richard Gamache and all of the wonderfully dedicated staff at Elmhurst.”
Roger Williams Medical Center, with nearly 1,400 employees, is a comprehensive health care institution offering a broad range of adult health services to residents of Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. Its Web site is www.rwmc.com.

Hi Marion-
Wanted to let you know that Saint Antoine also received 3 stars (in both resident and family satisfaction – Elmhurst only had data for residents) and received a My Innerview “Excellence in Action” award.
Thanks,
