ESS opens Virginia office

EAST PROVIDENCE – Environmental consulting and engineering firm the ESS Group Inc. announced this week the opening of an office in Hampton, Va.
The East Providence-based company already maintains a satellite office in Wellesley, Mass.
“This new office firmly establishes ESS in the Mid-Atlantic region and provides a convenient base of operations to serve our existing and growing clientele in Virginia and beyond,” said Charles Natale, president and CEO. “We anticipate the Virginia office will be one of many important developments for ESS in 2011.”
ESS played a consulting role during the permitting process for the wind farm proposed in Nantucket Sound. In a news release, it said putting operations near the tidewater region of Virginia would position it for possible offshore energy projects there.
“With our expertise in offshore wind, all kinds of clean energy, and coastal permitting, this region offers great opportunity for ESS,” said Director of Business Development Bob Erickson.
