PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island’s Teach for America staff and 35 Fidelity Cares volunteers joined forces on May 3 to assemble care packages for 80 Teach for America instructors in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
Packages, which included classroom supplies and tokens of appreciation, were distributed to Teach for America instructors between May 8 and May 12. Celebrations across the United States can be followed by searching for #ThankATeacher.
Since 2010, the Ocean State’s Teach for America chapter has sought to connect diverse leaders committed to education equity with Rhode Island’s disenfranchised communities.
