PROVIDENCE – Radiation Therapy Services Inc., a Nasdaq-traded Florida company that operates Landmark Medical Center’s radiation oncology facility, has gotten its state license to run a free-standing facility at Roger Williams Medical Center as well.
The treatment center, a joint venture between Radiation Therapy and Roger Williams, began treating patients this month. It replaces an existing facility on the hospital campus. Like Landmark’s center, it is jointly owned, but Radiation Therapy has a majority interest.

The facility, described as “state-of-the-art,” offers intensity-modulated radiation therapy – which is more targeted – and an image-guided radiation therapy program, along with other advanced technologies, the company said.
“We are pleased to receive a license to operate this facility and feel honored to collaborate with the prestigious Roger Williams Medical Center,” Dr. Daniel Dosoretz, president and CEO of Radiation Therapy, said in a news release.
