PROVIDENCE – A three-story renovated brick building and contents, at 89 Ship St., has sold for $2 million, according to Hayes & Sherry Real Estate Services, a Cushman Wakefield alliance member, which served as the broker for the transaction.

The freestanding office building has 15 parking spaces in an adjoining lot. It was sold on Jan. 15 to 89 Ship Street LLC, according to city records. The company is led by Andrew Quartin, CEO of Thames & Kosmos LLC, an educational toy company that develops science and technology kits for children.

Thames & Kosmos now occupies about 600 square feet at 301 Friendship St. in Providence. The new building has 13,089 square feet, according to the listing by Hayes & Sherry brokers Matt Fair and Peter Hayes.

The building was fully renovated as headquarters for the prior owner, The Hudson Co., a liquid-asphalt company, Hayes said.
