PROVIDENCE – The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline declined 4 cents this week to $2.60 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast Monday.
Regular gasoline now costs 36 cents more per gallon than at this time last year. Prices are also 13 cents above the national average. This week, prices range 39 cents from $2.37 per gallon to $2.76 per gallon.

Midgrade unleaded gasoline averaged $2.85 per gallon this week, ranging from $2.57 to $3.02 per gallon. Premium gasoline averaged $3.05 this week, ranging from $2.78 to $3.22 per gallon. Diesel fuel averaged $2.73 per gallon this week, ranging from $2.60 to $2.78 per gallon.
In Massachusetts, regular gasoline also dropped 4 cents this week. Regular gas in the Bay State averaged $2.51 per gallon, 4 cents higher than the national average. Prices ranged from $2.29 to $2.79. At this time last year, Massachusetts prices were 38 cents lower at $2.13 per gallon.
Midgrade unleaded gasoline averaged $2.76 per gallon, ranging from $2.54 to $3.05 per gallon in Massachusetts. Premium unleaded gasoline averaged $2.95 per gallon, ranging from $2.74 to $3.29 per gallon. And diesel fuel averaged $2.67 in the Bay State this week, ranging from $2.54 to $2.95 per gallon.
