Gebbia launches new line of adaptable office furniture

NEW YORK – Joe Gebbia, Airbnb co-founder and 2005 graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, is using the skills he picked up studying industrial and graphic design at RISD to launch a new line of adaptable office furniture for North Carolina furniture company Bernhardt Design, Co.Design reported May 22.

Covering design and innovation, Co.Design is one of three websites operated by, the online affiliate of Fast Company magazine.

Called Neighborhood, the 42-piece furniture line was launched at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair as part of New York City’s Design Week last month, according to Co.Design.

The line is based on two pieces of furniture that can be assembled in a number of ways, providing offices with flexibility and privacy.

The “seats interlock to form long benches with high backs that offer some privacy in an open office. The tables offer charging stations, and all of the pieces are sound absorbent,” Co.Design reported.
