Gilbane exec among industry’s national leaders

PROVIDENCE – Daniel P. McConaghy, 39, Gilbane Building Co.’s senior vice president and regional manager, has been listed by Building Design & Construction Magazine in its construction industry 40 Under 40. The winners were selected from among 244 applicants nationwide.

McConaghy has worked at Gilbane since 1987. After joining the company as a management trainee, he worked his way up within the New England division, becoming its regional manager when he was 35.

“In no small part,” he said, “my success can be attributed to the support of my family, friends and Gilbane, for the support and encouragement they have provided throughout my career.”

Active in the community, he is a member of the Phoenix House executive committee, as a member of the New England Council, the R.I. Commodores and the Construction Management Association, among others. He also has served as member of the La Salle Academy board of directors and as a mentor at the Carlo Lauro School.

McConaghy earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Harvard University and his MBA in entrepreneurial studies at Babson College, in Wellesley, Mass. He lives in Barrington with his wife, Jeanine, and their three children.
