
PROVIDENCE – A groundbreaking has been scheduled on Oct. 18 for the construction of five net-zero homes in the city.
The project, called Sheridan Small Homes, is a collaboration of Building Futures, Rhode Island School of Design, ONE Neighborhood Builders, the city of Providence, the R.I. Housing and Mortgage Finance Corp., the TD Charitable Foundation and HarborOne Bank.

The project is at 35 Sheridan St., next to Riverside Park.
A presentation will be made by Rhode Island School of Design personnel on net-zero, or zero energy, design elements and materials.
The groundbreaking is at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 at the site.
