Hasbro ranked first in Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens

PAWTUCKET – Hasbro Inc. ranked first in Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens, published in the magazine’s March/April issue. The study included rankings for climate change, corporate governance, employee relations, environment, financials, human rights and philanthropy.

Hasbro ranked highest of all companies for climate change, ranked third among participants for philanthropy, fourth in human rights, fifth in environment, and eighth in employee relations. Hasbro scored less well in the rankings for corporate governance, at 81, and financial rank, 64, yet these scores were given less weight in the overall rankings than other categories and both rankings are still relatively high marks in the study as it covers approximately 1,000 companies.

Woonsocket-based CVS Health Corp. was the only other Rhode Island company to make the list, coming in at No. 38. Its highest rank, 20, came for philanthropy – the company sponsors the annual CVS Health Charity Classic, which raises money for local nonprofits, and corporate governance, No. 33.

Companies with significant local operations that made the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list included:

  • Medtronic PLC – No. 64
  • Verizon Communications Inc. – No. 67
  • Eaton Corp. PLC – No. 75
  • Raytheon Co. – No. 76

The 100 best corporate citizens list is based on independent analysis of the companies in the Russell 1000 Index across 260 data points.
